Adjustment of the bypass valve is carried out after filling the pipeline with water during the commissioning of the entire system. If the setting pressure is precisely known and the position on the adjustment scale is clearly determined, the valve can be adjusted before filling the pipeline with water.

To adjust the bypass valve, a desired opening differential is created at the installation point and the adjustment screw compressing the spring is rotated until the valve opens. Then the differential is reduced while paying attention to the moment of valve closing and, if necessary, additional adjustment is carried out. The rotation of the adjustment screw smoothly changes the setting pressure, and each number of turns corresponds to a certain pressure differential within the supported range.

The bypass valve is tested by changing the differential at the installation point. Attention is paid to the speed of operation and the accuracy of maintaining the differential by the valve. The allowable error in spring calibration at the boundary values of the adjustment range is approximately 10%.

It should be remembered that the setting pressure corresponds to the beginning of valve opening, while full opening is achieved at a significantly higher differential. The dependence of the setting pressure on the position on the adjustment scale and the corresponding pressure of full opening are determined by diagrams presented in the technical description of bypass valves.
