Spring-loaded disc and lift check valves can be installed in any position with any direction of flow.

Non-spring check valves should be installed on a horizontal pipeline or on a vertical pipeline with flow from bottom to top. When installing a ball check valve on a horizontal pipeline, the ball chamber should be above the axis of the pipeline.

Check valves with a lever mechanism that holds the disc in the closed position are only allowed to be installed on a horizontal pipeline.

The check valve body should not be subjected to torsion, tension, bending or compression loads from connected pipelines.

The mating flanges should be parallel. Do not correct flange misalignment by installing additional gaskets and uneven tightening of bolted connections.

When installing a check valve on long straight sections of a pipeline subject to variable temperature of the working medium or surrounding air, a fixed support or an axial compensator with guides that exclude displacement of the pipeline relative to its axis should be installed for the check valve.

Before installing the check valve, remove the plugs that cover the passage section. In some valves, an additional insert that holds the disc during transportation is provided to protect the disc. Before installation, remove the insert.

Do not damage the paint coating on the valve body, as it performs not only a decorative function, but also protects the check valve body from corrosion.

The arrow on the valve body should match the correct direction of flow according to the technological scheme.

The connecting bolts should be installed in such a way that the nuts are located on the side of the check valve flange. Tighten the bolts diagonally, cross on cross.

Do not lift the valve by the holes in the mating flanges.

Installing a mesh filter before the check valve increases its service life.
