Y Strainer

Y Strainer - is designed for coarse mechanical cleaning of the working medium from solid impurities. Filtration occurs through a mesh with a fixed hole size. Mechanical impurities that exceed the size of the mesh holes cannot pass through and settle in the chamber.

Operating Media

Y Strainers are installed on pipelines transporting water, steam, and compressed air with a wide range of operating pressures and temperatures. All filters listed in our catalog can be used for water. For use with other operating media, please consult with suppliers.

Application Scope

The filter installation location is determined either by regulations or by the conditions of the technological process. In heating and water supply systems of buildings, the Y Strainer should be installed before:

• Pumps
• Water meters
• Heat meters
• Control valves
• Heat exchangers
• Throttle devices
• Accumulator tanks and storage water heaters
• At the entrance to the heating network
• At the entrance to the water supply network
• At the exit from the heating system

Regulations allow not installing a Y Strainer if another filter is already installed on the same pipeline within 12 meters.
