Check valve threaded

Check valve threaded

Threaded check valve (coupling type) is a direct-acting protective pipeline fitting with a threaded connection to the pipeline, which allows the flow of the working medium in one direction. The flow is automatically shut off by the pressure of the working medium.

Working mediums

Threaded check valves are installed on pipelines that transport water, steam, and compressed air with a wide range of working pressures and temperatures. All check valves found in our catalog can be used for water; check with suppliers about the possibility of using them with other working mediums.

Applications

The installation locations of check valves are determined by regulations or justified by the conditions of the technological process. For example, in building engineering systems, a check valve must be installed:

  • On the water supply pipeline after each water meter.
  • On the discharge pipe of each of the parallel-installed pumps.
  • In the heating point on the bypass between the supply and return pipelines in dependent connection with the heat carrier mixing unit.

Advantages

  • Low cost
  • Lightweight
  • Compact design
  • No maintenance required

Disadvantages

  • Non-full bore design.
  • Most designs are not suitable for repair.
  • Threaded check valves, where the disc remains in the flow path when open, have high hydraulic resistance, so they should be verified by hydraulic calculation.
