Regulating valve with electric drive is pipeline equipment designed for automatic control of flow by changing the valve's passage area. In addition to electric drive, a regulating valve may be equipped with a thermal, thermoelectric, pneumatic, or hydraulic drive.
Regulating valves are used in automation systems as indirect regulators of temperature, pressure, or water flow.
In building engineering systems, regulating valves are used:
In systems where a constant water temperature is required according to the technological process, a regulating valve with electric drive can be replaced with a direct-acting temperature controller.
If a regulating valve is used to control the mixing of the heat carrier, it can be replaced with a three-way valve with electric drive.
If the regulator is expected to operate in a two-position mode (open/closed), it can be replaced with any shut-off valve with an electric drive.
In cases where automatic water flow change is not required and smooth manual control is allowed, a balancing valve can be used instead.
