Differential pressure controller adjustment is performed after the pipeline is filled with water during the commissioning of all equipment. If the setting pressure is known precisely and the position on the adjustment scale is clearly defined, it is allowed to set the differential pressure before the pipeline is filled with water.
The differential controller is adjusted by turning the adjustment screw of the compression spring until the differential pressure at the impulse take-off point matches the specified value. Turning the adjustment screw smoothly changes the setting pressure, and each number of turns corresponds to a specific differential in the adjustment range.
The differential pressure controller is checked by varying the flow of water passing through it. The water flow is adjusted by any regulating or shut-off valve installed on the same pipeline, while noting the response speed and accuracy in maintaining the differential by the controller. The allowable calibration error of the spring at the limit values of the adjustment range is 10%.
To facilitate pressure adjustment and monitor the controller's operation, pressure gauges should be installed at the impulse take-off points.
