Maintenance and repair of a bypass valve

Maintenance of the pressure relief valve should be performed in accordance with the operation manual and with the following recommendations:

  • Once a month, the set pressure, response time, and accuracy of pressure relief valve should be checked. The operation of the pressure relief valve is verified by changing the pressure drop at the installation location.
  • The strainer filter, installed before the pressure relief valve, should be cleaned as required, which is determined by the readings of the pressure gauges provided before and after it.

Repair of the pressure relief valve may be required if a deviation from the set value of pressure drop is detected during operation or maintenance, and involves cleaning the disc of sludge and scale.
