The check valve is installed on sections of the pipeline where the technological scheme allows flow in only one direction. Below are the most common installation schemes for check valves:
1. On the discharge pipe of each of the parallel-installed pumps, the check valve prevents water from flowing back through the inactive pump.
2. Near flow meters installed in cold and hot water supply systems, the check valve protects the flow meter from reverse water flow.
3. In heating points of heating systems with pump mixing of the heat carrier, the check valve is installed on the bypass between the supply and return pipelines. In this scheme, the check valve prevents the heat carrier from flowing from the supply pipeline to the return when the pump is off, and when the pump is on, it allows cooled heat carrier from the return pipeline to flow into the supply to reduce the supply temperature in the heating system.
4. In schemes with dependent connection of heating systems to heating networks, in cases where the pressure in the heating network may drop below the static pressure of the heating system, leading to the drainage of the heating system.
