Where is the check valve installed

The locations for installing check valves are determined by the conditions of the technological process; additionally, in some systems, the check valve must be used according to the requirements of regulatory documents or the operating conditions of the installed equipment:

  • Check valves are used on the pressure pipes of all parallel-installed pumps to prevent flow through inactive pumps.
  • In the installation points of water meters in potable water supply systems, check valves are installed to prevent backflow of water through the water meter.
  • In heating and ventilation systems with mixing pump units, check valves are installed on the bypass between the supply and return pipes to prevent the transfer of the heat carrier.
  • A check valve is installed on the supply pipe of heating systems connected to heat networks under a dependent scheme if the hydraulic regime of the heat source does not exclude the possibility of draining the heating system.
