Installation schemes for pressure reducing valves

Installation schemes for pressure reducing valves

Reduction valves are usually installed at the inlet of a water pipeline to the consumer. The typical installation scheme of a reduction valve includes:

  • A strainer filter installed before the valve in the direction of water flow.
  • Pressure gauges before and after the valve, necessary for monitoring the quality of its operation.
  • Shut-off valves before and after the valve, as well as a drain valve for preventive maintenance.
  • If pressure increase can cause an emergency situation, a safety valve should be installed after the pressure regulator.
