The installation of Y Strainers should be carried out according to the manufacturers' recommendations, but the following should also be considered:
1. Take a strand of linen fiber with a number of threads such that its diameter when twisted is approximately equal to the depth of the thread. The length of the strand should allow for wrapping 1.5 to 2 times more than the number of thread turns.
2. After retreating about 50-70 mm from the beginning of the strand, twist it slightly, place it in the first turn of the thread, and, holding it with your hand, tightly wrap the long end of the strand clockwise, placing it in each turn of the thread.
3. After reaching the end of the thread, continue wrapping with a second layer, moving the turns towards the beginning of the thread. The length of the second layer should be approximately 2/3 of the thread length.
4. Wrap the remaining 50-70 mm end of the strand similarly clockwise, wrapping from the end of the thread to its beginning.
5. Apply a layer of sealant to the surface of the wrapping.
6. Screw the connecting elements by hand. With proper wrapping, the mounted element should turn 1.5 to 2 revolutions.
7. Continue tightening the element with a wrench or torque wrench. If the mounted element needs to be positioned in a specific orientation, finish tightening in the required position.
With proper wrapping, during tightening, the effort should not exceed the tightening torque specified below:
