Schemes for installing direct-acting temperature regulators are determined by the conditions of the technological process, which require maintaining a constant water temperature.

In hot water supply systems, automatic temperature regulators are used at the nodes of high-speed heat exchangers. The regulator valve is installed at the inlet of the heating medium, and the temperature sensor is installed at the outlet of the heated water.

In a hot water supply system with a storage water heater, a direct-acting temperature regulator is installed at the inlet or outlet of the heating medium, and the temperature sensor is located in the middle of the tank. A temperature regulator connected according to this scheme controls the loading of the tank, preventing it from overheating.

In hot water supply systems, a valve and temperature regulator sensors are installed in one pipeline of the circulating pipes. This scheme allows to reduce water consumption through the circulating pipeline and prevent it from overheating. It is recommended to maintain the temperature in the circulating pipeline of hot water supply 5-10°C lower than the temperature of the hot water entering the system.

In heating systems, direct-acting temperature regulators are only used for quantitative regulation of the heat output of heating devices. However, since most often heating systems are designed with qualitative or qualitative-quantitative regulation, direct-acting temperature regulators are not installed in them.
