• To avoid abrasive wear of the valve, operating the ball valve with partially open valve is not allowed. The valve must be either fully open or fully closed.
• The working environment should not contain solid impurities capable of damaging the polished surface of the ball. If there is a possibility of solid particles appearing in small quantities, it is recommended to install a mesh filter in front of the ball valve.
• Using levers that extend the factory handle to control the valve is not allowed.
• To avoid hydraulic shocks, the valve should be opened and closed slowly.
• The pressure and temperature at the installation site of the ball valve should not exceed the working pressure. For most crane designs, operation is not allowed with simultaneous coincidence of maximum temperature and nominal pressure.
• To avoid sticking of the valve during operation, the ball valve should be periodically opened and closed.
• It is recommended to clean the ball valve from dust and rust every six months and, if necessary, tighten the threaded connections.
• During hydraulic testing, ball valves, except for drainage and compartment valves, must be in the fully open position.
• During draining of the system with the risk of freezing, ball valves should be opened and closed several times to completely drain the water. If the ball valve was closed during draining, the water remaining in the flow part of the ball and freezing can crush the body.
• Repair and maintenance of a valve under pressure is not allowed without prior draining of the section.
